Let’s Create an ETC Cookblog – a “taste of the Jewish Eastside”!
By popular request we are creating an ETC Treasured Family Recipes and Memories – Recipe Exchange right here through the Jewish Eastside blog (yum!). Members of the Eastside Torah Center, their family and friends are encouraged to contribute. Or if you are a Jewish family living on the Eastside and want to participate, please join us! What we’d like is a “taste of the Eastside” – an authentic flavor of the diversity and family traditions that exist in our community.
Now before you congeal at the prospect of posting directly on the blog, rest assured we will make this as easy as possible for you to share your treasured family recipe. Once we have several dozen recipes on the Blog, the next step will be to create the ETC Cookbook!
First, here is how you will roll your Recipe and bake your post:
- Find one of your favorite family recipes, you know the one that conjures up all those memories because it is chock full of love as well as spices.
- Write it up and be sure to include a little dash of why your recipe is so dear to you, or what tradition the recipe is a part of in your family (those stories are what really makes these recipes melt in our mouth!).
- And one last important ingredient in your Recipe post: The Category your Recipe would fall into. For example, is it a Shabbat recipe? A family tradition for Passover? Anytime?. Is this meat, dairy or pareve?
- When you have that all ready, you can send it to me in one of three ways:
1) Email it to me in a Word or Text document: fgaillour@verizon.net, or
2) Enter your Recipe into the form below. Be sure to include your contact information so I can get email you if I have questions (don’t worry, private information like that won’t show up on the website), or
3) Enter it into your Facebook or MySpace page and “friend me” the link (@ Francine Gaillour).
Once I have your recipe I’ll check for spelling and stray pieces of dough and then it will be posted!
By the way, if you have a photo of your finished dish, well that would the cherry on top! (ok to include you or the kids or family members in it too). Just email me the digital photo.
Ok, I’m really hungry now! Have questions? Call me @ (425) 260-2199.
