Write for this Blog!
Do you like to write?
Do you want to write? . . . an article or essay about your Jewish life or perspective … But you never got around to it… or Maybe thought you could never get published?
Here is your opportunity to express your Jewish self, share your experience and inspire the Jewish community through the ETC Jewish Eastside blog! Members of the eastside Jewish community are invited to submit an article, post or short essay. Just like that, YOU can be a JewishEastside “guest blogger” and published author! A degree in Journalism or English is NOT required! ![]()
What can you write about? How about these ideas:
- Your hard-earned insights as a Jewish parent, a Jewish son or daughter, or a Jewish teen
- A book review and it’s relevance to Jewish life and thought
- A D’Var on the Parsha of the week
- A D’Var on Torah, Talmud, Jewish learning, philosophy or ethics
- Your favorite Shabbat or Holiday Kosher recipe — see Got Recipe?
- What you love about being Jewish and living in Belleuve, Redmond, Kirkland, Bothell, Issaquah, Sammamish, Woodinville, Mercer Island, or the greater Eastside
- A meaningful moment in your Jewish journey
- A commentary or reflection on the Rabbi’s lecture or sermon
- A Jewish life cycle event in your family that can teach us something about your family of origin and tradition
- Jewish philosophy and ethics applied at work or in your business
- Many more ideas …. EXCEPT … this blog is not a forum for political debate
Guidelines:
Your article should be between 400 and 700 words and edited for spelling and grammar before submitting. Please note that all articles will be reviewed for content and must meet the ETC JE Blog Editorial Guidelines before being posted (in a nutshell the tone of your article should be informative and positive; a D’Var should be aligned with the overall theology of the Eastside Torah Center.)
You can submit a finished article or send a preliminary abstract (50 words) to get our feedback. Use the form below or email the webmaster: fgaillour@verizon.net.
